Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Zoomies is a dog activity planning app. It helps users plan walks, review weather conditions, track activities, create play date invites, and save activity photos.

This Privacy Policy explains how Zoomies handles information in the app and on the website. It also explains how location, Health data, iCloud sharing, play dates, and photos are used.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

Zoomies stores app data on your device so the app can show your profiles, planned walks, activity history, and local preferences.

• Dog profiles, including dog name, dog photo, size, coat type, heat sensitivity, cold sensitivity, snout type, alert settings, and routine walk times.
• Owner profile information, including display name, profile photo, and a local identifier used for play date participation.
• Activity records, including activity type, date, duration, distance, weather summary, notes, route points, and photos.
• Permission and preference settings, including reminder choices and appearance settings.

This device data is used to operate the app. It is not used for advertising. Zoomies does not sell this information or use it to track you across other apps or websites.

3. Location Information

Location information means geographic information from your device. Zoomies uses location for weather recommendations, place selection, route tracking, and activity recaps.

First, Zoomies may request current location access to show local weather and safer walk windows. For this purpose, the app requests a current location with approximate accuracy suitable for weather and place context.

Then, when you start a tracked walk, run, or bike ride, Zoomies may request background location access so it can record the route while the activity is active. Route points may include latitude, longitude, timestamp, horizontal accuracy, distance, and start-place context.

Zoomies stores route points in the app activity record. If you save the activity to Apple Health, route data may also be saved as an Apple Health workout route. Zoomies does not sell location or route information, and it does not use location to track you across other apps or websites.

4. Weather Information

Zoomies uses weather data to evaluate walking conditions. Weather information may include temperature, rain, wind, conditions, and a short weather summary.

Weather requests use the location needed for the forecast. The app then converts the weather result into app summaries and recommendations. Zoomies does not sell weather-related information or use weather requests to track you.

5. Apple Health Information

Apple Health information means workout and fitness data managed by Apple HealthKit. Health access is optional.

If you allow Health access, Zoomies may write and read workout-related information for outdoor walks, runs, and bike rides. This may include workout records, walking or running distance, cycling distance, active energy, and workout routes.

Zoomies uses Health information to save activity summaries and show workout details in the app. Zoomies does not use Health information for advertising or unrelated analytics. Zoomies does not sell Health information or use it to track you.

6. Play Dates and iCloud Sharing

Play dates use Apple iCloud and CloudKit so invite links can work across devices and users. CloudKit is Apple’s cloud database service.

When you create a play date invite, Zoomies may store shared invite information in CloudKit. This information may include invite token, activity type, place name, place category, address summary, coordinates, scheduled time, join policy, owner display name, owner photo, dog names, dog photos, invite status, creation date, and expiration date.

When another person requests to join or accepts a play date, Zoomies may add that person’s display name, profile photo, local participant identifier, selected dog names, selected dog photos, request status, and acceptance status to the shared invite record.

If a participant completes a play date activity, Zoomies may store a completion summary for that invite. This summary may include participant name, start time, end time, duration, distance, active energy, and completion status.

People who have access to the invite link may be able to view shared play date details. If host approval is enabled, the host can approve or decline join requests. Zoomies does not sell play date information or use play date participation to track you across other apps or websites.

7. Photos

Zoomies uses photos for dog profiles, owner profiles, activity records, play date invites, and recap cards.

Dog and owner profile photos may be stored on your device. For play dates, thumbnail versions of these photos may be shared through CloudKit so participants can identify people and dogs.

Activity photos may be stored on your device as original, display, and thumbnail images. If the activity is part of a play date invite, shared photos may be uploaded to CloudKit with metadata such as uploader name, uploader identifier, date, file type, file name, image size, and byte counts.

Shared photos can be viewed by participants who can access the play date. A participant can delete photos they added. Local photo deletion removes the local activity photo from the app. Zoomies does not sell photos or use photos to track you across other apps or websites.

8. Notifications

Zoomies may send notifications for walk reminders, weather warnings, play date reminders, join requests, approvals, and related activity updates.

Notifications are used to support app features. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

9. Sharing and Disclosure

Zoomies shares information only as needed to provide app features. The main sharing feature is play date sharing through CloudKit.

• Apple may process iCloud, CloudKit, HealthKit, location, notification, and weather-related data under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
• People with access to a play date invite may view the information included in that invite.
• Information may be disclosed if required by law or needed to protect the service, users, or legal rights.

Zoomies does not sell personal information. Zoomies does not use personal information, location information, Health information, weather information, play date information, or photos to track you across other apps or websites.

10. Retention and Deletion

Zoomies keeps information while it is needed for the app features. Local app data remains on your device unless you delete it in the app, remove the app, or reset the device data.

Play date invite records include an expiration date. Shared photos and invite information may remain in CloudKit until deleted, expired, or no longer needed for the feature.

You can delete activity photos that you added. You can also delete local activity records and profiles where the app provides that control.

11. Children

Zoomies is not directed to children under 13. Do not use Zoomies to submit information about a child without appropriate permission from a parent or legal guardian.

12. Changes

Zoomies may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version applies.
